Was visited at 0830 , Saturday 17/9 as the ABC radio news advised of initial
temperature of 10c in clear sunshine.
My choice of sites, however, is not too promising at this stage because it
does not appear to be ideal habitat for waders like Lathams snipe.
This largish dam has steep sides , with little level marshy ground that makes
actual physical presence for flushing purposes virtually impossible.
Very quiet on the water, several ducks and ducklings and still night herons
roosting in the highest casuarinas, but no waders of any species.
Nevertheless, I will complete my assignment and continue P.R. on behalf of COG
with the property owners who are interested in this project.
