Hi Julie,

 

They are really pretty photos, especially the bird looking up. Even though they are clear photos and the main distinguishing features mostly show it is still a hard choice. I believe it is a Collared Sparrowhawk for a few reasons: the beak is fairly small relative to the head, the middle toes wrap all the way around the bottom of that branch but the other toes don’t and the tail looks quite square edged to me compared to what a BG would show. The looked fairly heavily built probably matched that it is clearly fluffed up, probably in reaction to being bothered.

I'm really not sure which one this is....it was being harassed by a raven and looked considerably smaller but when I got closer it looked fairly heavily built and tail more rounded ...

 

Help would be appreciated.
