I suggest it is not
the staff
of ANBG who have managed to trap and band every White-browed Scrubwren, it would be students and others at ANU who are studying these birds (and Fairy-wrens) and others.
As you note, it is rare to find one there not banded. A lot of very good information has come out of these long term studies.

The ANBG seems overrun with New Holland Honeyeaters at the moment; I went back to try and get nice photos of the Eastern Spinebills but they were scarcer than last visit, chased by the NHHs (in turn chased by the Red Wattlebirds)
