Last year I posted about the habits of a group of goldfinches that were
roosting in the fenced off garden section of the derelict Alexander Building in
Woden (down from the Town Square north towards the Scarborough Building, on the
left, second derelict building along).
Because the demolition of the building has been at a standstill for 12 months
the goldfinches have resumed their last winter's pattern: roosting in the
garden shrubs, ascending higher in the shrubs for a communal twitter before
dispersing. This morning they were still twittering at 8.45 (because it was
such a gloomy morning). There were 20-30 of them, very cheery.
