The big white spots on the back are curious. I don’t recall seeing that in any bird, book, photo or museum bird of that species....... Is it moulting? I can’t tell from the photo.

I've been seeing the Grey Goshawk every week or so along Ginninderra Creek in Giralang. It is also been seen nearby in Melba.

 

I suspect it is a male bird, because it does not look particularly large, and its call is a good match for the male call in the Morcombe field guide app. (On one occasion it was calling a lot while carrying prey.)
