The Tuggeranong Hill
survey was conducted on Tuesday 21 June.
The morning started out overcast, cold and windy.
It did warm up a little but remained overcast for the duration of the surveys.
It was one of the quietest surveys I have conducted on The Hill, with a total of only thirteen species during surveys and a further twelve between sites.
Subsites two and three were the most productive, with seven species each.
A pair of Rainbow Lorikeets were inside the spout of a hollow at site 2 and two were seen soon after at site 3, which is about 1.5 kms away.
Site 3 also had a Grey Currawong, and a
Wedge-tailed Eagle circling overhead.
One small mixed feeding flock, which comprised of twelve
Buff-rumped Thornbills, a Scarlet Robin, a
White-throated Treecreeper and a
Speckled Warbler near site 4 added some interest to what would otherwise have been a very dull morning.
