ebird has published a
preliminary summary of the data which has been submitted for the GBD so far.
The
Global Tally for the day stands at 6257 species from over
44200 checklists, with over 16000 participants from 145 countries taking part.
1263 people tried out ebird for the first time- including some people from Canberra.
Other stats
Australia: 501 species from 1010 checklists from 318 Participants
ACT: 114 species from 71 checklists from at least 27 participants, up 21 species, 35 checklists, and 16 participants
from last year.
Thanks to all those that took part, and remember, data can be submitted to ebird all year long and will end up on the COG database.
