Yes black-faced cuckoo-shrike is correct.

Subject: [canberrabirds] Bird ID

Hi all,

Had a nice walk at Point Hut Crossing yesterday and managed to see the following:

2 Black swans, pacific black ducks, 2 flame robins, 1 white-faced heron, 1 pied cormorant, grey fantail, wrens (No blue plumage sighted only brown) and what I think was a black-faced cuckoo shrike (see photo below - couldn’t get a close up photo).  I heard only a black cockatoo.

I heard a bird from my back yard also and the call reminded me of morse code.  Any suggestions? Thanks

Anne
