Looks like a normal young (or maybe adult female) Blackbird, well maybe not quite normal, is paler and bit more spotty than most, but within the normal range and especially that it is very much a ventral photo. Not at all scalloped enough for a Bassian Thrush, which does not have a pale eyebrow. The age difference in Bassian Thrush seems to be so minimal, it would be hard to pick. By the way, I noticed that in HANZAB the page numbering and labels for the plates between these birds and another group are transposed.......... Certainly no female Rufous Whistler (not even close).

Good evening

Jill saw this bird in the ANBG today.  We've an idea it may be an immature Bassian Thrush - the underparts seem to be more scalloped than streaked as in a female Rufous Whistler.  Didn't seem to be the right colours for young Blackbird

 Any thoughts would be appreciated.

thanks

Ken
