About 5.30 this evening I was sitting waiting at the major traffic lights near the Mawson shops when two small parrots going very quickly flew across the intersection.  Their shape and style of flight (I would say somewhat erratic!) was not familiar.  The light was too poor to see any colours.  A few seconds later a small group of Red Rumps flew up from the Marist oval so I was able to make an immediate comparison – my two unusual birds were not the same.  I am not familiar with Swift Parrots but I know that last year they were reported from close to this spot.

I would be interested to know if someone else is in the area and sees Swifties.  I will go back tomorrow sometime and see what I can find.
