I don’t know any of the local juv robins to be as stripy as that. HANZAB shows juv Red-capped to be about that stripy, juv Hooded to be more stripy, juv Flame
to be a bit less stripy but is probably the likely one. Anyway the question is not entirely valid. A bird can be
Juv AND in moult.
Going by that I think it looks most like a
juv Red-capped Robin to me but that is not very likely and is a thought bubble, not an identification. Who was it with?
