A belated reply, apologies. For several days now Superb Parrots have been quietly feeding most mornings in large, seeding Chinese Elms in my own backyard and those of immediate neighbors in the lower section of Cook (Cambridge St, Aston Cr & Grylls St). I was looking at two (male & female) just this morning while hanging out washing.

This may be becoming a regular seasonal thing; at least, it's the second year it has occurred.  Though I tend to think of them as relatively shy, last year I could watch multiple birds feeding from less than a metre away while sitting on my rear deck.  Oddly, this year they become agitated if I so much as look in their direction for more than a few moments; raising binos or otherwise staring invariably has them taking off with indignant squawks to seek more privacy.

I see a flock of 6-10 Superbs fly overhead every few days in Macquarie, but not reliably enough to plan a release I reckon.

Good afternoon

Does anyone know if the Superb Parrots are still around ? I popped down to AIS this morning but could not find them there.

I have one that has recovered from whatever ailed him, I thought he was a tad drunk but I really have no idea.

Thanks in anticipation

Denise
