Around 6.45 this morning I saw a large cloud of Cockatoos circling above Hughes Oval squawking loudly. I observed them as they passed north and then noticed that they were mobbing a raptor. it was a Black Kite, forked tail and all, the first I have seen in the ACT for over 10 years, and the first away from Mugga Lane Tip.

The Kite and Cockatoos passed north over St Andrews Village aged care complex on Groom Street and I lost sight of them.
