Wandered around the lake this morning. A surprise was finding two night herons (actually took a poor pic with the two birds just visible) on the island closest to Kambah end. In the past I've only ever spotted one there. Over 20 masked lapwings, including a
group of 6. Nearly 30 great cormorants, quite a number in breeding plumage. A magpie lark pair nesting near the new apartments beside the weir have very small nestlings, which seems quite late.
