Further to my talk on Werribee last night, a Werribee video I showed to COG more than 10 years ago had a male Red-necked Phalarope in breeding plumage. Perhaps
now a ‘regular vagrant’ it is probably an overshooter rather than, as I suggested last night, one of the group of prized if disoriented targets, including the White-rumped Sandpiper, that occasionally go down the wrong side of the Pacific.

Last Sunday i made the trip to the Western treatment Plant at Werribee to see if i could take some photographs of the Red-necked Phalarope
that has been there for quite a few weeks, this is a small bird on a fairly large pond feeding in amongst Banded Stilts and Red-necked Avocets. I have put an image on my Flickr site and images of other birds i saw during the couple of days i was there.https://www.flickr.com/photos/rroger880/24828795892/in/dateposted-public/
