At 5.30 am a Koel calling in Curtin followed by the sound of the lions roaring from across at the National Zoo. A rather bizarre combination! -----Original Message----- From: David Nicholls Sent: Saturday, 23 January 2016 7:55 AM To: Bird Chat Line Subject: Unusually noisy acoustic environment this morning (Deakin) The morning calling period (7am or so) was unusually complex this morning. Two Grey Butcherbirds, several Magpies, lorikeets (sounded like Rainbow), Peewits, King Parrots, a Bowerbird, Sulphur crested cockatoos, Red wattlebirds. All very close by. Maybe they all slept in?
