Superb Parrots have come to the mid area of Flynn for several years at about
this time..early-mid December. There are several loquat trees that the birds
remember and they come to feed on the unharvested fruit.
In the last two years the population of Rainbow Lorikeets has built up and
remained here to feed on Eucalypt blossoms and, now, unharvested fruit.
Does anyone else have the impression that the Lorikeets have asserted
themselves over the Superb Parrots and prevented them from spending large
amounts of time eating loquats and other fruits (and then taking food to
begging young)?
