Yesterday afternoon, rowing from the Hospice (East Basin) to Commonwealth Bridge (Central Basin), there were a few terns (amongst several gulls) in sight for 30-40 minutes. They were some distance from me, often diving down to the water. At the Captain Cook water spout, 3 at least were perched on the (non-functioning) spout outlets.  Without binoculars or camera, I couldn’t see details.  I assume they were Whiskered Terns (smaller than the Silver Gulls).
