Needing to go into Bungendore today I checked the dams on the edge of the village. 3 Whistle dux at Burrows Lane and another 3 at Trucking Yard Lane. Also 47 Shelduck around the paddock
at Trucking Yard Lane and another 17 at Bungendore Meadow.
I checked the Banded Lapwing site on the way home and the cupboard was bare. Actually that is a poor metaphor since the absence of Lapwing observations may be because the grass is not
bare, but quite high, and:
