We have two successful fledged chicks in Torrens from a nest in our
neighbour's eucalypt. They were roosting very low and visible on Sunday.
Chicks looked quite robust.
We had seen them just out of nest but not fledged 9 days earlier then the
parents moved them to denser cover and then they appeared about 9 days later
fledged and low and very visible.

Subject: Frogmouth fledging outcomes on western Mt Ainslie
Of the seven nests we've been watching:
- one family is still on the nest, chick yet to fledge
- three have fledged successfully
- one is presumed to have fledged successfully
- two have failed, with chicks dying at fledging time (last Thursday's
downpour probably contributed). Unfortunately these included the chicks
raised in the ex-chough nest as seen in previous emails.
Photo attached of the latest successful chick, taken this morning.
Cheers
Matt and Steph
