In case anyone is going that way, ACT Government info says the Tharwa bridge is closed between 9am and 4pm daily all this week. I timed a visit to get there just before 9am ... but found the bridge wide open an hour and a half later when I returned. There were quite a few Rainbow Bee Eaters soaring around.
