I’m getting despondent about the status of Brown treecreepers in the ACT.

In the COG Atlas (published 1992) it notes the populations of Brown Treecreepers in Campbell Park and Mulligan’s Flat.

I arrived in the ACT 1994 and by then, or shortly afterwards, both these populations had vanished (as had the Hooded Robins in Campbell Park, also noted by the Atlas.)

I used to observe Brown Treecreepers in the New Line Quarry Paddock, but I have not seen them since 2010. When Kama Nature Reserve was opened I observed the Brown Treecreepers there in  around 2012, but have not seem them since then.

They were always present in Hall TSR, but they seemed to have disappeared from there too (since 2013).

Are there in fact any Brown Treecreepers in the ACT in nature reserves (ie not on private property)?

John Leonard
