Mt Majura surveys were done over a number of sunny spring days. 34 species in total over the 9 sites. Some sites were quieter than others with only a couple of species inside the site, but a couple of sites had good numbers of birds. Only
one Speckled Warbler seen in one of the sites and small birds in general were fairly scarce in all other sites. One site had a nice flock which included Buff-rumped, Yellow-rumped and Striated Thornbills, Golden Whistler, and White-throated Gerygone. Interestingly
we recorded a Willy Wagtail at two sites, which we don’t think we have recorded in the sites before. An Oriole was heard calling in the distance and some obvious breeding activity with Noisy Miners and Pied Currawongs feeding young. Large numbers of Kangaroos
at a couple of the northern sites.
