Some hang around each year. Quite a few around Tidbinbilla now. This is not unusual for there.

Can anyone offer an explanation for the Welcome Swallow behaviour mentioned in the email below?

Thanks

Sue

Dear Sue,

We on the Nerriga Rd at Braidwood and have been very happy to be part of the COGs audit of birds on our properties here – thank you again for doing that for our Landcare group.

Sorry to bother you but hoping you might have an answer to this question please.

We have noticed that the swallow population on our property has not migrated this year but has stayed and are very visible circling the paddocks.

Is there an explanation and is it happening elsewhere?

Many thanks and again apologies,

Virginia & Barry Hooker

Braidwood
