Greetings. Just to repeat a suggestion, for the information of new
subscribers and a reminder to long-timers: please do not use
abbreviations of bird species names, or of locations, in the subject
lines of emails sent to the list.
This is because most subscribers do not know, so do not use, the
standard abbreviations of species names so, when people are browsing or
searching the list archive
http://bioacoustics.cse.unsw.edu.au/archives/html/canberrabirds/ , it is
sometimes hard to find what one is looking for.
The usual approach is, in the body of the message, to give the
species/location name in full, then the abbreviation in brackets if you
want to use one. But please ensure that the subject line gives the
information in full.
With thanks - David
