My two last sightings of White-fronted Chats were 7 birds on 6/8/14, and on 5/1/15 were 4 birds. There were very few birds of any sort on my recent ride –
but there has been increasing activity at the grounds in recent months.

Hi, it may be of interest that to my knowledge Chats were first recorded during a COG survey of the Arboretum on 25/9/11 when 15 were recorded and again on
20/9/14 when 5 were recorded.

I have had a couple of forays to SFP in the past couple of months and found no Chats.
Looking at eBird records for SFP the Chats were recorded 3 times in early January - presumably folk getting their year-lists off to a good start - but not since then. Another example of the value
of the eBird approach!

With all the excitement at the Arboretum, I’ve been wondering if the White-fronted Chats are still at Stromlo Forest Park.
A 70 minute search this morning in their usual places in the open areas around the car parks etc failed to find them (or for that matter Flame Robins or even Pipits/Skylarks)
despite the excellent viewing conditions The main activity was more than 75 Yellow-tailed Black-Cockatoos with still some begging young in the reveg? between the facility and the building sites.
Has anyone seen the chats there lately – they could still be present but there now seems to be much more typical habitat for them.
