Not very scientific but I believe that I have been at or near Uriarra Crossing about 50 times during the last 25 years without seeing a Pelican.

Is it a bit unusual to see one flying low over river @ Eur. Crossing?

Possibly unusually there, were two Gang Gang Cockatoos at Strathnairn this
morning at 9am.
I noticed the calls first. One flew into a solitary paddock tree in the
paddock between the Bicentennial Horse Trail and the Belconnen Golf Course.
One then flew west skirting the homestead where Open Day preparations were
in full swing. It was soon followed by the second bird emerging from the
tree.
Perhaps they did some additional inspections to the west (only the Pine
trees and eucalypts there however) as I heard their calls for a total of 5
minutes.

Strathnairn's off Stockdill Drive, Holt and now has a cafe operating again
(Thursday to Sunday) should anyone venture in that direction or to Shepherds
Lookout.
