Four seen again this morning, we had lovely views of them from our back deck feeding in a small, heavily lerped Blakely’s Red Gum in the adjacent Mt Ainslie Nature Reserve. Before that they had been flying around calling a lot, often with a Noisy Miner in pursuit. They disappeared deeper into the reserve after a few minutes and I haven’t heard them again since.

As there is plenty of water available (there is a rain water trap in the reserve immediately behind the houses) with luck they may hang around for a while. The relevant area is between the Foveaux and Fisher St entrances, off Duffy St.

Incidentally there have also been quite a few Superbs around for the last month or so, not a species we have had here regularly before.

Regards

Steve
