In case anyone missed it – the White-rumped Sandpiper is now located in the inlet area of Shoalhaven Heads and was seen by me in the company of hundreds of Red-necked Stint,

Double-banded Plover, Red-capped Plover and Golden Plover on the extensive mud flats.  Some Bar-tailed Godwit are starting to colour to a gorgeous orange, and will very soon be disappearing. Many of the other birds are also starting to change to breeding colour.  A photographer from Nowra reported that there is not much around at Lake Woollumboola.

Trucking Yard Lane was also pretty exciting on Sunday morning 22nd March – very large numbers of Australian Shellduck, Plumed Whistling Duck, Australian Raven, Galah, Wood Duck, Grey Teal, Pacific Black Duck Starling etc.  Feeding in the grass and from Hay ricks, if not preening and resting.
