stopped in at the pond at cnr Flemington and Randwick rds today. A single pink-eared duck in the middle was swimming in tight circle, as they sometimes do. Also on same pond, among other more usual inhabitants, was a single hardhead, a pelican, a white ibis, an Australasian grebe, 3 little black cormorants and 1 little pied cormorant. 
Under one of the pine trees at one end of the bus parking area for Thoroughbred Park, a lot of large white droppings, and quite a few grey feathers caught up in the foliage above, but no sign of what was responsible...
