Ride and walk around the perimeter of Narrabundah Hill Duffy. By 10.30 am the day was becoming hot and birds were scarce along the back fence.
Most activity was along the more treed sections of the NW fence line. Small birds appeared to be in feeding flocks in two places, consisting of some of Buff-rumped Thornbill, Grey Fantail, Scarlet Robin (3), Superb Fairy Wren, Red Browed Finch, Silvereye, Yellow-rumped Thornbill, Rufous Whistler, Speckled Warbler (2), White-throated Gerygone, Western Gerygone, Silvereye, Weebill and Grey Shrike-thrush.
Other birds of interest were 3 Dusky Woodswallow circling high, White-winged Chough on nest with dependent young, Sulphur Crested Cockatoo busy in nest hollows, pulling out what appeared to be mud or compost. 1 young White-faced Heron, Grey Butcherbird, Grey Shrike-thrush, Red Wattlebird and the more common birds.
Not a bad day’s work.
