I saw several in various parts of India two to three weeks ago – my wife took photos to prove it. In one place they were nesting in a cavity in a large road retaining wall.

I had a great view of one in Jerusalem a couple of years ago sitting on the wall of the Al Aqsa mosque (the bird, not me!!).

Not actually a new bird for the Aussie list. There was one about 4 or 5 years ago at Broome.
Years ago my father had them as a regular on his GBS....... but that was in Israel. I saw 2 in China, one sitting on a house roof. Though neither of these bits are relevant to CBR.
