A quick visit to the Canowindra sewage ponds midday today yielded a small group of plumed Whistling Ducks.  They seem to like this location (I’ve seen them there previously) and are likely to have been there for a while and to hang around a while longer if anybody is travelling out that way.

the ponds are just out of town on the Eugowra/Forbes road on the right hand side.  Also present were a few Pink Ears, Grey Teal and a Pacific Heron.

our trip to Orange this weekend was otherwise almost devoid of birds.  The only raptors were a Kestrel and a Brown Falcon, a handful of parrots, one BF Cuckoo Shrike and a couple of Woodswallows in the 600 kms!!
