In the last few days I have noticed a number of things which suggest the birds might be seeing Autumn peeping over the horizon.
  • Scarlet Robins have returned after being absent for several weeks;
  • Ditto for Dusky Woodswallows - about 30 seen along Whiskers Creek Rd on Thursday;
  • Welcome Swallows beginning to emulate music scores on the phone lines;
  • Large numbers (up to 30) of Noisy Friarbirds in an area without obvious blossom.
