Following on from Jenny Bounds' mention at COG meeting of a book sale of the late Mr Braithwaite at Buxton St Deakin (just below Red Hill reserve, that I took the opportunity to walk on for about 30 minutes after). I heard Gang gang Cockatoos from the garage of the home, along with S-cC. When I pointed this out to Mrs Braithwaite, she was apparently unfamiliar, said they sound like screech birds. I later watched 4 GGC (2 M & 2 F) in the back gardens along the upper loop of Buxton St adjacent to the reserve. I think this is my 3rd observation of the species in the past year but that is mainly a indication of that I don't travel a lot within Canberra. Also still many Satin Bowerbirds in the area, in contrast they have departed from my home area in Kambah, in the last few weeks. One Wedge-tailed Eagle soaring over the hill top.
