Two notable finds today in the Brindabellas with Lyndon Howe and Christine D.
The first was a juvenile Golden Whistler being fed by an adult male near the intersection of Warks Road and Blundells Creek Rd. While this is a common bird and therefore breeding records may not seem significant, there are very few breeding records in the ACT and only 7 other records of dependent young in the COG data base between 1982 and 2013 (see details in
http://canberrabirds.org.au/wp-content/BirdDetailData/Golden%20Whistler.pdf )
The other was a Painted Button-quail on the Bendora Dam Rd between Warks road and Bulls Head.
Perfect weather in the Brindabellas at the moment.
