Folks

I had the great pleasure of watching and filming these birds on Friday in Griffith.  This is the first time I've seen them feed on the cones of a Pinus - a European species in this case, possibly Pinus pinaster or a close relative.  I counted 13 of these birds and there were more out of sight.  Pine cone feeding was probably being 'passed on' as I watched an adult feeding 'pine seed mash' to a dependent young bird - in the usual way of cockatoos.
