Hi Elizabeth,
Sharing fruit is lovely for the wildlife! But netting is dangerous for the bats and birds. Check out our website for info on good netting and how to put it up so the creatures do not get caught. Basically use netting you can't put your
little finger through and stretch it tight over a frame. They can land and take off. Bunnings has the good stuff.
Could be a possum eating tomatoes.

Three bats at our place (Griffith) a couple of nights ago, checking out our very large fig tree, hundreds of figs but they are not ripe yet. Usually I say that there are enough figs for us and the birds, but
I am not so keen on bats. I m afraid that if we put netting over the tree, bats will get caught in it and then we will really be in trouble.
Also something is eating our tomatoes, as soon as they change colour. I think that it might be a bower bird. We have seen one. It takes quite big bites, and can even remove tomato from bush, then drop it. I am now picking them as soon as they show a bit
of colour
Elizabeth
