As John Bundock also observed the bird at the bowling club on Friday - and the ANBG would be shut when the bird is usually hunting - the report below surely suggests there are currently two birds in the area.

Fri 26 Dec Powerful Owl Australian National Botanic Gardens
Observed perched on a large branch in the Sydney Region Flora section. Initially facing away, then turned towards us.
