I have
been seeing several young galahs out around the place for about 2 weeks. Had not
particularly taken note of when & where.
The
young Crimson Rosellas left the nest box in my yard on Thursday afternoon. I
was in the kitchen which faces the box. I did not actually see
them come out but it must have been very quick. I heard all the noise, likely
mainly from the parents and I saw young (I think 3) fly and unsteadily try their
first flight and perching. So that is a successful fledging of Crimson Rosellas
from this nest box in 2012 & 2014 and Eastern Rosellas from
this nest box in 2013 and successful removal of Common Mynas in
2011.

Parrot young
Superbs (both males and females) at the Hawker ovals this
morning were regurgitating noisily to begging young. A tad earlier than last
year, I believe. b
