As you will have noticed from the chatlline the powerful owl only moved  position in a very large oak tree at the boundary of Haig Park and Canberra North Bowling Club. Although it is often obscured by foliage and branches I feel sure that some of our accomplished COG photographers will have obtained better photos than mine at this stage. It certainly was still there about 1730 yesterday with a ringtail possum clutched by its talons.  Through binoculars I could clearly see open yellow eyes with blinking also recorded. You will that that copy of this email is being sent to  chatline with a request that some kindhearted and enthusiastic member l will oblige by posting a fear photo. I will watch developments with great interest.
