Both sites are just within COG area: the Hume x Burley Griffin Way junction is in grid cell C1, Bowning is in D1.

On several trips to the banding site at West Wyalong over the last 3 months or so I have seen Black Kites near the junction of the Hume Highway and the Burley
Griffin Way, the first time 2 birds and the second a single bird. I am not sure if this is within COG’s Area of Interest (it must be pretty close) but to be on the safe side I have put in two “incidental reports” to the COG system. If people are unsure (like
me) of COG’s “ north-western boundaries” there is no harm in putting all records in to the system.

Just outside COG’s area of interest I know but worth reporting – a single Black Kite over the Hume Hwy late this afternoon near Bowning. Weren’t there some recent sightings in
that area?
