They are pretty much a summer regular in the ACT or at least close by (the last ABR says recorded in 5 of the last 10 years), so bearing in mind that only a fraction of birds present in our area get listed on the COG ABR) it is expected they would be noted in these places at this time of year as they move to our area. I suggest they would follow roads, for the carrion and access to farms and rubbish. All are worth reporting. I have a small number of times seen one in Canberra in summer, I wonder if they are all on COG records....

And last weekend I saw one over the Hume Hwy before I'd reached Jugiong, which is as close as I've seen one apart from the stray at Woden a couple of years ago -but plenty around Deniliquin, Jerilderie etc at present, probably getting good pickings following the machinery as wheat is being harvested.
