Just looking at the COG Atlas and what it says for all 3 crakes & B-bR (all
listed under "minor species"), I believe they are all recorded far more
often in recent years than what is stated in that reference. Were they under
recorded over 20 years ago? Hard to know in hindsight if that is a real
change, just an impression or because we now see more suitable sites or
communicate these observations better or what.
Curious to note that the preface to the COG Atlas (22 years ago) mentioned
climate change as a factor that may cause further change to bird
populations.

Subject: Spotted Crakes breeding
There are no breeding records in the COG database for this species despite
descriptions of breeding in the ACT and the COG AOI in the COG publications.
If anyone knows the source of the 1990 breeding record at Point Hut
(mentioned in the ACT Atlas), I would appreciate the information.
Thanks
Steve
