I wasn’t so lucky with a male Satin Flycatcher at Millpost Lane, Kowen Forest, this morning.  It was showing beautifully in the morning sun in eucalypts a few metres across the border into NSW, but refused even to land on the branch that overhung the border fence into the ACT, let alone visit the remnant eucalypts at the edge of the pine forest on the ACT side of the border...

This Southern Whiteface was sitting on the ACT border fence, so it just scraped in with a Blitz tick.

 


(It was on the ACT border north of the Gunghalin suburb of Taylor, on the Centenary trail.)

 

Its a long time since I've seen a Southern Whiteface in the ACT.
