I have just returned from the site on Mt Taylor. I had not been there since Sunday, 12 October. The Tawny Frogmouth nest is now empty and could not find adults nearby. I do not know whether the nest was successful or not.

I have had 4 requests as to how to find them in a day and maybe Chris has had requests also. Maybe we could coordinate a little group to go there to not have lots of little disturbances to them, although these birds are fairly unconcerned about disturbances. I am somewhat available to out again and show the site. The nest is only about 5 metres from the main walking track and lots of other people walk along the path. Also of interest there yesterday were at least 7 Rainbow Lorikeets near the gate and I'm pretty sure there are nesting Grey Butcherbirds just outside the gate as they attack me whenever I go there. But  But I have not found a nest. I didn't find them yesterday.

After getting some more detail on where, I went to see the nest today.

Hi All

Two newly hatched balls of fluff in the nest at the side of Mt Taylor.   Great to see..
