That reminds me of I think 4 years ago on the day of the COG blitz (late October), I watched a Brown Snake as it moved along the bank at Tharwa Sandwash whilst stopping to put its head down the various burrows in the sand which I thought were likely Rainbow Bee-eater nest burrows.

There was also a long (c 1.5 m ) Red-bellied Black Snake on the path at Tharwa Sandwash yesterday- it did the  “bluffing” (?) posture of flattening and raising its head when we appeared.

A couple of Rainbow Bee-eaters were around, and a Golden Whistler.

Folks

Yes I know its not a bird, but I'm sure list participants would be interested.  Black snake filmed at Tidbinbilla on Fri 19th Oct.   - one way to get to actually see a pobblebonk!
