My garden in Ainslie has been "humming" over the last few days… fruit trees, red flowering gum in the neighbour's yard, natives etc. Haven't checked what insects they were. There were lots of flies on the grass. Even watched them "attacking" a passing
butterfly. It's a bit quieter at the moment after the storm. Attached a photo of a bee at Dickson Wetlands from last weekend. What kind of bee is it? I spend 5 weeks in Germany last year in July and August and
the lack of bees compared to what I remembered from previous visits (and my first 26 years) was worryingly obvious. Susanne |
