The large flock of YTBCs which seemed to roost in the Brindabellas, flying off at dawn to make a living and returning home at dusk to make loud noises, have not been seen for a little while. I last saw about 40 flying over the intersection of Uriarra and Brindabella Rd at 6.15  pm about 2 weeks ago.

Seventeen or more of these birds have just flown over my house in a direction from Mt Wanniassa towards Tuggeranong.  They were identified initially by their call which had me rushing outside, and they were, indeed black cockatoos.  Didn’t see the yellow tails though.
