ID bird call,

Being not so good at birdcalls, I am seeking some help 
Recent sound on Percival Hill is a communication call. Two notes, fairly far carrying, same high pitch, then about 4 seconds later the more distant two note reply.
Kept up for an hour or more but I always failed to see the bird which moved off unseen ahead of me all the time.
Any suggestions?
